moving on up…+ building superkül strength

Feature_Ian and Wendy3_1024 We are delighted to announce that Ian Douglas and Wendy Wisbrun are now Associates of the practice! Ian Douglas OAA, LEED AP An architect and project manager at superkül since 2012, Ian is known by clients and within the studio for his pragmatic approach to resolving building design and construction co-ordination, and for being on top of just about everything. His project expertise ranges from high- and mid-rise multi-residential housing, to commercial office interior fit-outs and renovations, new public schools and university student residences, as well as urban design studies that resulted in published design guidelines and implemented policy. At superkül, Ian has been pivotal in leading the Oben Flats multi-unit residential projects, as well as renovations for the University of Toronto, York University, the Royal Ontario Museum, and Steelcase New York. Originally from Montreal, he now lives in the Beach(es), which is almost as far away from the superkül studio, but he makes the trek in every day. We love having him on board. Wendy Wisbrun AIA, LEED AP Wendy joined superkül as a Project Architect in 2012. After graduating architecture school with a minor in architectural history, Wendy worked for over ten years in New York City on a variety of institutional and residential projects. Wendy has a special interest in sustainable construction, and has undergone PHIUS Passive House training, a very rigorous standard that requires buildings to use very little energy to operate. She continues to increase her knowledge of advanced building technologies through research, coursework and other initiatives, so as to better advise our clients of what’s available to them in the construction of their new homes. Wendy has led a number of our residential projects, including the award winning Great Gulf Active House. She is currently heading up the practice’s single-family residential team with a dozen new projects in the works. Wendy is originally from Texas, but swears that she has come to love snow. We love having her on the superkül team.
